Buenos Aires to Barcelona on the Viking Jupiter

Flying to Buenos Aires was a long flight, but the sun rise over
the Andes Mountains was spectacular!

Shipboard

The welcome onboard show on the 2nd night, included the Captain
telling jokes & talking about his background...

an introduction of his executive staff members, ...

and an introduction of the guest lecturers.
A resident historian, a resident astronomer, another historian,
and a naturalist--3 British men & me.

There was an astronomer because Jupiter has a planaterium on the
2nd floor of the Explorers' lounge (the 8th deck).
This what it looks like from the top deck.

It's closed most of the time and surrounded by curved walls.

There were several shows over the course of the cruise and some
were narrated by the astronomer.

Since there were a lot of sea days, the culinary staff created
events. This was donut day.

This was a special seafood buffet, where the fish & shrimp
were prepared on the grills.

As we approached Spain, an amazing paella was served up in a pop-up
buffet in the World Cafe.

Also, like on Holland America, there is a crossing the equator
ceremony for the new crew who ended up in the pool.

The ocean-going birds were part of our entertainment.

I gave 11 presentations. One on Rio de LaPlata was new.
